-- Describe new geography facts you learned from the bee -- Tell the meaning of foreign policy related vocabulary Activities: -- Go over Geography Bee questions -- Add vocabulary to US Foreign Policy packet (3rd column) Independent Learning: -- Weekly Weekend Work -- Check OG email and or Google Classroom -- Check Vue -- Do any missing work -- Organize/clean out backpack -- Restock supplies Notes/Handouts/Material covered in class: Diplomacy: The practice of conducting international relations State: When talking about the world, an independent country Commercial: Having to do with buying and selling (business/economics) Annex: To add on or take over land Sphere of Influence: areas within one nation where another nation has economic or political control Yellow journalism: The use of sensational or exaggerated headlines and stories to sell newspapers Nationalism: Feelings of patriotism, pride, unity, commitment, and loyalty towards one's country ("Yay, us!")
